Watching all the pictures of cars on snow and ice last week, made me so glad that I live in Texas. Sure we have our moments. We all have our slippery moments. Take for example the story out of Hyogo Japan. In Hyogo Prefecture a load of mayo fell off a truck causing an eight car pileup, resulting in injuries and a five hour road closure. Mayo contains eggs, vinegar, and oil, and the shattered bottles created a slippery stretch of highway that police said was slicker than ice.
The highway of life can get slippery too. Sometimes we have to navigate tricky stretches, such as choosing to do what’s right when those around us disagree; other times we encounter bends in the road with unexpected changes. Finding the right pathway is vital. Proverbs 3 says that God will lead us and make our ways straight.
This week, the most important thing is being on the right road so our feet don’t slide and our footsteps are secure.
