THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL: We continue our study of the Gospel of Luke. Please join us in the Banner Room at 9:30 a.m.

MAY’S METROCREST COLLECTION items are infant diapers and adult diapers. A collection bin for these items, along with plastic bags that are always in demand, can be found in the Narthex.

THE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY GROUP will meet this Wednesday, May 31st at 1:00 p.m. in the Banner Room. We welcome everyone to be a part of a prayerful and thoughtful time.

NEXT SUNDAY, JUNE 4TH, WE WILL RECEIVE the Pentecost Offering for the PCUSA. 40% of the offering received will be used to help support the youth in our own community, particularly for those involved in our Sack Summer Hunger Program. The remaining 60% will be used to support the ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency, to include its child advocacy efforts through its Change the World Initiative.

TEACHER APPRECIATION SUNDAY is June 4th. Join us in celebrating our Sunday school teachers with a waffle bar and fun from 9:40 -10:20 a.m.!

THE NEXT LUNCH AND LEARN is Sunday, June 4th at noon in the Banner Room for “Frankincense, Myrrh and More; Herbs and Oils of the Bible” presented by Laura Eichholtz. Learn about plants and their multitude of uses. A light lunch will be served. Please RSVP to Peggy Kinkade at 972-369-3266.

A SIGN UP SHEET for the June deliveries for our Hope for the Homebound program can be found in the hallway. Please consider being a part of our ministry to those in need in our area.

SACK SUMMER HUNGER is around the corner!  Every summer The Nor’kirk helps 25 families in need who qualify for breakfast and lunch through Metrocrest Services. The program begins Saturday, June 10th, and runs every Saturday morning through the summer until school begins again in August. Produce from our own Grow and Share Community Garden is also used to help those in need.  If anyone is interested in helping this summer as part of The Nor’kirk’s outreach, please see Gayla McCown or John Reas.

SCHOOL’S OUT! LET’S PICNIC! Come to a cookout on Sunday, June 11th after the 10:45 a.m. service. We will celebrate the creation of our church on Heritage Sunday! Join in the fun! Contact Peggy Kinkade at 972-369-3266 for more information.

40TH ANNIVERSARY QUILT: Diane Haist and Lynne Hines have graciously offered to create a 40th Anniversary Quilt for the church (much like the one we did for the 20th that hangs in the Narthex). Would you be willing to submit a square(s) to be sewn into a quilt? It can be anything that would be meaningful to you – pleasae let Diana Farrar know what you decide so we’ll know what to expect and avoid any duplicates. Here are the details from Diane & Lynne:

Blocks should be submitted by Heritage Sunday, June 11th. Any design on a maximum 12 inch square of cotton fabric. Please allow for about a 1/4” seam allowance around the edges when creating your 12” square. We need a commitment from you right  away. THANK YOU!!! – Diana, Diane, Lynne, and the rest of the 40th Anniversary Committee.

NOR’KIRK VBS – “God’s Campground” will be June 13th-16th. Please make plans to join us as a participant, a volunteer or a contributor!  Sign up your kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews for a week of fun! Volunteer information and registration forms are in the Narthex, or contact Lisa McClurg at 817-966-4078 or LRMC40@MSN.COM for information. We will need some items to change the sanctuary to God’s Campground such as small tents, lanterns and canteens (please make sure they have your name on them). We are also in need of some giant cardboard boxes (think appliance size). More info to follow!

BOY SCOUT TROOP 114, sponsored by The Nor’kirk, is hosting a food drive for the North Tarrant County Area Food Bank. Please help the troop as they serve our neighbors in need. Drop off your canned goods in the labeled box in Price Hall.

KALCULATORS FOR KIDS: Grady Spruce High School is a Title 1 Funded Public School in South Dallas with a high  student/family poverty level. Erin McKenas Joyner, Laurie’s and David’s daughter, is asking for some help from the congregation. The school needs used calculators for the Economics classes in the fall. If you have any old, but working calculators you no longer need, please leave them in the box in the Narthex. The drive will run through the summer. Contact Dave McKenas at 817-966-3740 for more information.

EARLY BIRD SIGN UP: 2018 MoRanch Men’s Conference: May 4-6, 2018.  Although we won’t begin a formal push until the fall, there is a sign up list on the hallway bulletin board for the 2018 Moranch Men’s Conference, and slots are already filling! To insure we get the lodging we want for 2018, please sign up at your earliest convenience, indicating how many slots you need reserved for yourself, Dads and/or sons. See Tim McNutt or Dave McKenas for questions.

THE SHARING CLOSET in the Narthex has canned goods and non-perishable food. Please feel free to help out those in need with the food supplies in our pantry.
