DURING WORSHIP THIS MORNING we are celebrating the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. All who proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are members of Christ’s household and are invited to commune. Gluten free bread will be offered. Elders and Deacons serving Communion are Craig Hines, Jan Mattson (8:30) and Trent & Judy Courtney, Joseph & Ann Helou, and Donna McGrath (10:45). Communion will be served later today to our homebound members by Greg Hefner.

TODAY IS WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY, whereby we celebrate our oneness in Christ with all of our brothers and sisters around the globe.  A tradition that began with the Presbyterian Church in 1933, is now endorsed and supported throughout the country by the National Council of Churches.  In recognition of this Sunday, we will receive the Peace and Global Witness Offering, with 25% of donations used within The Nor’kirk to serve as our witness to Christ’s peace through our Christian educational and mission outreach efforts.

OUR YOUTH FELLOWSHIP for grades 6th – 12th meets tonight from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the church. Dinner will be served followed by fellowship activities.

THE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY GROUP will meet this Wednesday, October 4th at 1:00 p.m. in the Banner Room. We welcome everyone to join this meaningful time of reflection of God’s Word.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME AN ACTIVE VOLUNTEER TO ASSIST SENIORS IN OUR COMMUNITY with their medical and miscellaneous appointments? Metrocrest Services is looking for those who are willing to provide transportation assistance to seniors in our local community who are not able to drive on their own.  Appointments are typically between 9 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and volunteers would be asked to use their own vehicles and submit to a background check with DPS.  When the need arises, Kathy Blaschke, the director for volunteer transportation services at the Metrocrest, will contact the volunteer and coordinate availability on dates and times.  Please contact Kathy at 972-446-2100 or email her at kblaschke@metrocrestservices.org if you are interested in assisting the center with this need.

PLEASE SHARE with those in need the food supplies from our pantry. The Sharing Closet in the Narthex has canned goods and non-perishable food.
